Mining with ASICs

THIS Pagina HAS Bot UPDATED: Please visit this postbode for the latest information.

Mining with ASICs is very similar to mining with GPUs with a few exceptions. Getting began goes after the same course spil GPU mining. Go after the steps on the “How to mine Bitcoins” pagina to set up your private wallet spil well spil your account with a mining pool of your choice. The primary difference is that you will have to use different mining software with ASICs spil GUI Miner does not have ASIC support. The program that I recommend is called BFG Miner and can be downloaded from the BFG miner download pagina. Scroll down until you reach the more latest releases and open look for the release that corresponds with the operating system you are using. You may have to mouse overheen and look at the status folder to see the finish opstopping name. Download the opstopping and samenvatting it to a directory on your hard drive and open the directory te your opstopping explorer. After connecting your ASIC to your machine and permitting the hardware to install on your pc, open the bfgminer application.

Once the program is commenced, it will prompt you for the URL for your pool. Te my case, I use stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 for Slush’s Pool, but thesis have a tendency to switch from time to time, and if you are incapable to connect, check your pools instructions for the updated address. After that, you will be prompted for your username and password. Recall that ter this field it is also asking for your worker name spil well. I name my workers with a number, so my user name is formatted spil USERNAME.1 with a period separating the user name and the worker ID. After that, you will be prompted for your password. Each worker has it’s own password, and if you are using Slush’s Pool, it will be listed right next to your worker name when you loom into your account.

Once you are logged te, the program will begin mining with all available devices, including GPUs. I personally choose not to mine with GPUs so I turned mine off. To do this, click “M” on your keyboard and use your arrow keys to select the device you wish to modify and click the “D” key to disable any devices you do not with to mine with. Kasstuk the “Enter” key to terugwedstrijd to the main screen.

Eventually, from the main screen, klapper the “S” key to inject the settings spijskaart and “W” to write a config verkeersopstopping that will store your mining information so you don’t have to type it te each time you restart the program.

The end result should look something like this:

Spil you can see, I am mining with a Butterfly Labs Little Single SC that is delivering overheen 30 GH/s. I will be adding another Little Single and a Single SC te the near future.

What is the likely (approx) earning potential from a butterfly 10ghz miner? Any rough idea??

How much time they take to ship it?

There is a profitable alternative to ASIC mining. Visit my webstek for details

You can purchase any amount of Ghash power and commence mining instantly.

No electro-therapy costs, No setup, No monitoring. Just collect your mining shares.

And you can resell your Ghash and even make a trade profit.

do you need a gepast inter netwerk conection or just a hard line and and the asic itself lke does the asic need swift internet or fdoes it just rely on its own processing power

Thank you for the help!

with 30 GH/s miner how much bitcoin you collect for month averagely ?

Difficulty 31 Million…, Nice timing on that unit.

I just got mine today, difficulty is now 609 Million…,

But thanks for the guide. Looks good.

basically, if your gpu isn’t strong enough, like 50mh/s, you will only get less than 1 us cent vanaf Five hours, which is a waste of energy and your time, i.e. 0.00001698btc, if it less than 0.01btc, you won’t get paid, and the organizer gets profits from you anyway.

Hey man, a friend told mij about bitcoins, so I googled a bitcoin guide and yours came up. Now did I found a program called Multibit for bitcoin wallet, have you had any practice with it?

And I am mining with GPUminer but im thinking about doing ASIC but I dont think my pc can treat it, what are your specifications?

Hope to get a response soon and your guides helped mij alot 🙂

mine bfgminer can’t see my asic bitcoin miner. How can i showcase him? i dont want mine overheen shitty effortless miner

hello there, i go after the instruction and ter the end the prompt pagina shows up and vanishes immidiatly so i couldn’t see anything …, do you have any idea why? thanks

I keep getting stratum from pool 0 request work update message on my window. What does this mean?

I can not login to save my live

I have attempted everything

login pool_login.worker1 and its password (not password of your pool login!)

pool name bitcoincz_miner.worker1

pool name slush_miner.worker1

password miner.work1’s password

I am waiting for my very first Five GH/S ASIC Bitcoin Miner. Your GUI miner guide wasgoed fine. Soon I will be using this guide. Thanks

Can you tell mij how that goes? I am looking to purchase one and would like to know if it is any good.

Any chance you could add an explanation spil to how you add the 2nd and third units to BFGminer

Te the ASIC-age, is it worth embarking mining Bitcoin at huis?

I have recently learned about Bitcoin and would like to get rich quickly into mining.

I have control of a

  • laptop
  • library total of ancient computers
  • powerful gaming PC
  • cluster of GPUs
  • an old ASIC, I got for three times its worth off eBay
  • a cluster of EC2 servers

My power bill is

  • frightfully expensive
  • filth cheap
  • subsidized by my neighbors included ter rent
  • non-existant, because I produce a power surplus

Is it worth getting began with mining?

Two Answers

Generally, it’s not worth your time and effort to mine at huis! (Some exceptions may apply.)

Age of ASIC mining

Today, ASICs rule mining. The Bitcoin network has more than 1.7 Ehash/s (Oct 2016) now which is 1,700,000,000,000 Mhash/s. Your graphics card will be running total blast to churn out a few hundred Mhash/s, your CPU maybe a few dozen.

With CPU or GPU you will never collect a sufficient balance with a mining pool that you could even get paid out. It’s a waste of time, even if you don’t pay for power.

Mining has gone big scale

Meantime, ASIC mining has gone industrial. Corporations are building mining centers te regions with very cheap power, and packing them with millions of USD worth of ASIC miners. Greater mining power te one mitt does have some slight advantages which adds to their more efficient processes.

Eventually, ASIC miners have bot catching up quickly technologywise: Every few months fresh chips get announced moving the scale down a few more nm. Presently, wij are reaching 16nm technology (Oct 2016), which is already pretty close to the general state of the kunst. The problem with that is that every step of miniaturization comes with a leap ter power efficiency, quickly obsoleting older generations of ASICs. Chances are that your investment will outdate before it pays for itself – even when you are just looking at cost of acquisition and have no cost of power.

Mining profits tend to zero

The mining market tends to reach an equilibrium: While it is very profitable to mine, there is slagroom for investments. The extra mining power increases the difficulty for all which te turn reduces the profitability. When the difficulty rises, it drives out the least cost efficient mining operations, ter turn enhancing the profitability of the remaining miners. If you’re not te a particularly advantageous position, you will be quickly shoved out of the market.

If you’re not paying for your power, someone else is

Anyway, if you’re “not paying for your power”, because it’s included ter rent (e.g. te a dormitory), you’re either privatizing profits by socializing costs, i.e. stealing from your neighbors, or you’ll be paying for it next year when your landlord increases your rent to voorkant the higher power bill.

If you produce a power surplus or use the ASIC to substitute electrified heating, hey, you might be one of that exceptions I mentioned going ter.

There might be some altcoins that can still be profitably CPU/GPU mined and traded for Bitcoin thereafter, but I am not sure whether even they are worth it when you factor te your time investment.

If you have understood all of the above, please feel free to check out

Bitcoin, spil the answers imply, is long out of the reach of huis miners, however other coins can use all your hardware, e.g. Gridcoin (GRC).

Gridcoin prizes work done on the BOINC toneelpodium which is a distributed super-computer. This clearly needs peers with general purpose computing resources, not ASICs which can only perform one task.

Anyone can make a BOINC project. Once the Gridcoin community vote on its inclusion te the ‘whitelist’, users processing work for the project receive GRC.
